Details:

Greetings, Task Force Fiddlestix. I have a very difficult task for you. Manticore recently discovered some very disturbing data about the Council, and I need you to investigate. My sensors indicate increased Council activity in Independence Port. Please go there, investigate a Council base, and return with any data you find.

This problem must be addressed without delay.


#1 Investigate Council base
Location: Independence Port
Objective:  Find clues
Clue: Blueprints - These blueprints show a new Council base. At a glance it appears that the facility is designed for storage.

It appears the Council has a new base. I will scan the blueprints you found for any identifying features; perhaps we can determine the base's location

It is a pleasure to work with you, Task Force Fiddlestix.



I've examined these blueprints you found, and I think I've determined the location of the Council's new base. I need you to investigate that base, Task Force Fiddlestix. We must find out what the Council is using it for.

I believe the base has just been completed, so you should have the element of surprise.

#2 Defeat all soldiers in Base
Location: Independence Port
Objective:  Defeat All
Clue: Racco conversation - When you arrested him, the Council agent Racco said:
'You will not be able to stop the new Zenith Mech; they are more powerful that you know! You may have destroyed our latest facility, but there are others, and they will drag you down!'
Completion: You have defeated the Council.

If that Council agent was telling the truth, we have our work cut out for us. I've begun the search for the other Council facilities he spoke of. With luck, you'll be able to take them out before they become a threat.




It looks like that Council agent may have been telling the truth when he warned you of their other facilities. I have located one in Talos Island; it looks like it's been around for a while, so they probably have a full supply of Zenith Mech Men. That's a good thing, because we need to know everything we can about these new Mech Men. I need you to shut down that facility and return with any data you find.

I don't have any data on the abilities of these new Zenith Mech Men, so be wary.


#3 Defeat base leader, his guards
Location: Talos Island
Objective:  Defeat - Find evidence, 3 computers to disable
Clue: Mekman parts - These parts are clearly used in creating the new Council Mekmen.
Completion: You have defeated the Council and found some Zenith Mech Men parts

Well done, Task Force Fiddlestix. These Mech Men parts you found could tell us a lot about the Council's new robots. I'll begin the analysis immediately.



My scans can't seem to determine anything from these new Zenith Mech Men parts. Please take the parts to Fareed Abdullah for examination. Then get over to Steel canyon; I've located another Mech Men storage facility there.

My scan indicates that the Steel Canyon facility has been in operation for quite some time. No doubt it will be heavily guarded.

Fareed Abdullah:  So these are the Zenith Mech Men parts, huh? Interesting. I'll get to work analyzing them immediately. As soon as I have something, I'll let Citadel know

Completion: You have cleared out the first cavern.

Thanks for taking care of that Zenith Mech Men storage facility. it's a good thing you did; Fareed has completed his analysis of the Mech Men parts, and the results are quite alarming. I now know how the Mech Men were improved, and why my scans were not effective. They were built using the same technology that I was built with.

It seems these new Zenith Mech Men have been built using the same technology that created me. I must warn you, that will make them quite dangerous. With Manticore's help, I've located the facility where these Mekmen are being built. I need you to get over there and halt the production of these new Zenith Mech Men.

Completion: You have stopped the production of the new Zenith Mech Men.

That was well done, Task Force Fiddlestix. But we must make certain there are no other facilities. If the Council continues to manufacture these new robots, the results will be disastrous.

Your fame is growing by leaps and bounds.





We need to know if the Council is producing any more of these advanced Zenith Mech Men. I would like you to go to Independence Port and see if you can learn anything from the Council soldiers there.

Those advanced Zenith Mech Men could be a real threat to this city, Task Force Fiddlestix. We need to take whatever steps necessary to stop their production.


#7  Question Council soldiers
Location: Independence Port
Objective:  Defeat 40 Council
Clue: Data disc - This data disc, found on a Council soldier, should lead you to the remaining Mekmen production facilities.
Completion: One of the Council soldiers you defeated was carrying a data disc.

This data disc should lead us to the Council's Mech Man production plants. Good work, Task Force Fiddlestix.



I have analyzed the disc you recovered from the Council agents. It gives the locations of several facilities that are producing the Council's new, advanced Mech Men. The first facility is in Talos Island. Please shut down the facility and then return here.

#8 Defeat all soldiers in base
Location: Talos Island
Objective:  Defeat - 3 computer systems to disable
Completion: You have shut down the Council manufacturing facility.

Thanks for shutting down that Mech Man production plant, Super Trucker. We've got two more to go.


I've determined that the second Mech Man production plant is located in Independence Port. Please shut down the Independence Port facility, then return here.

If you can learn anything more about the Council's new Zenith Mech Men, it would be most helpful.

#9 Defeat all soldiers in base
Location: Independence Port
Objective:  Defeat - 3 computer systems to disable
Completion: You have shut down the Council manufacturing facility.

Any new data about the Council's advanced Zenith Mech Men? No? Well, on to the third facility.




The last Mech Man production facility is in Dark Astoria. If you can shut down that facility, we may be able to completely wipe out the threat these advanced Zenith Mech Men pose.

You have performed admirably in this quest, my friends. I have no doubt you can see it through to the end.

#10 Defeat all soldiers in base
Location: Dark Astoria
Objective:  Defeat - 4 computer systems to disable
Clue: Vandal's location - These coordinates, extracted from a Council computer, tell you the last know location of Vandal, the mastermind behind the advanced Mekmen.
Completion: You shut down the Council facility and discovered that Vandal is behind the Zenith Mech Man enhancements.

Vandal. I haven't heard that name in years. It was the code name of Othman Doul, the technical genius behind the Council's original Zenith Mech Men. I should have known he was behind these new, advanced robots.


This task is extremely dangerous, Task Force Fiddlestix. And it is extremely important to me. If Vandal is using my technology to create these new, advanced Zenith Mech Men, then I am, in some way, responsible for the havoc they will wreck. Please arrest Vandal and ensure that he will do no more harm.

You have my gratitude, Task Force Fiddlestix.

Completion: You have defeated Vandal! Citadel's Assistant awarded!

I cannot thank you enough for your efforts in these past few days. I must admit, I was disturbed by the idea that my own technology was being used to improve the Council's Zenith Mech Men! Now that their creator is behind bars, I can hold my head up high.

There is no possible way for me to repay this debt. I am eternally grateful.

Event Story Line:

It started so simply. Citadel sent you to seek information on the Council's activities in Independence Port. Some of the agents you fought were carrying blueprints outlining a new facility.
You traveled to this facility and battled an agent called Reinhart. He boasted that the Council's new Mekmen were more powerful than you could dream. You journeyed to another Council base, where you recovered physical evidence of these new Mekmen for Citadel to analyze. When the technology foiled Citadel's scans, he sent you to Fareed Abdullah for an expert opinion. The Council and Fareed revealed the terrible truth at virtually the same time. The Mekmen were being created from the same technology that built Citadel! After consulting with Manticore, Citadel sent you to a Mekman manufacturing facility, which you shut down. Showing as much emotion as anyone has ever seen from him, Citadel sent you to interrogate the Council soldiers in Independence Port. You took to the streets, and returned with a data disc bearing the locations of three Mekman production plants. You shut them down one by one. At the last facility, you discovered the identity of the mastermind behind these advanced Mekmen. It was none other than Vandal, the Council's own twisted genius. You traveled to Vandal's lair and defeated him, likely freeing Citadel from a terrible legacy.
